Last year’s sold-out Christmas demonstration from Gary and Nichola Hunter of Hunter’s Chocolates and Mark Mitson, head pastry chef at The Assembly House was so popular that we’re bringing it back in 2024!

Don’t miss this chance to watch two of the greatest pastry chefs in the land joining forces for a masterclass of festive desserts, baking, sweet treats and Christmas cooking tips followed by our 2024 Nutcracker Afternoon Tea.

Gary, who met Richard when the pair worked together in 1980s and who was his best man at his wedding, spent 27 years working at Westminster Kingsway College, which is hailed as one of the most prestigious hospitality and culinary schools in the world, starting as a lecturer in Patisserie and Confectionery and finally becoming Principal.

Gary became a UK chocolate ambassador for Barry Callebaut 20 years ago and has represented the UK as a judge for the prestigious World Chocolate Masters competition, mentoring many of the UK finalists.

In 2023, Gary launched Hunter’s Chocolates with wife Nichola in 2023 and were immediately featured on James Martin’s Saturday Morning television show. Hopefully, he’ll bring some of the pair’s incredible chocolates along for you to buy!

Mark Mitson is, of course, our wonderful Head of Pastry here at the House and has an equally glittering career which incorporates Swiss patisserie training, lengthy stints as head of pastry at Claridge’s and the Mayfair Continental. You may know him better as our Scone Jedi!

Arrive for an 11am demonstration, tea or coffee on arrival, followed by The Nutcracker Afternoon Tea at 1pm with a glass of fizz. You will be seated at communal tables in The Music Room.
